I've been testing this all day and have tracked a few stray bugs and squished them good. But I must stress, there are a lot of changes in this build so if you are going to upload it backup your database, config.php and e107 base install before you do anything. That also applies to those of you using older e107 builds, as the new upgrade script will update any version of e107 from v5 onwards. I've tested the upgrade on six different versions, from v5.0 to v5.4b and all upgraded to 0.551 with no problems. You can see all the changes (I remembered to put in heh) on the latest changes page, here's a quick list ...
+ new forum code + new sql utilities to backup and optimize your database, plus a wonderful script by McFly that thoroughly checks your e107 database for problems/incompatibilities + courtesy of Edwin there are new core menus fully configurable from admin. latest_comments, latest_forumposts, articles and clock menus can all have their settings altered + new theme called comfort, ported from a design by nix + ghah ten-billion other things
Let me know how installs and upgrades go, thanks. Ah sorry I forgot update instructions. There is no upgrade only zip for this release as nearly every file has been changed. After backing up, upload all the new files to your server, overwriting the old files. Then go to upgrade.php in your browser and follow the instructions.
